Yes...I am still here!!!! First newsletter in over a year. What a year of activity it has been.
Trackgang Products.
As some of you may already be aware, last year I started Trackgang Products, which operates a shopping cart webpage for nzr models. Primarily it supports models to the scale of 1:120, which run on 9mm N gauge track. This business had been operated by Pat Eade, until his passing. Pats Trackside 3/16th range has been purchased by Joe Bray, Railmaster, in Hawera, and is due for release under the Railmaster name.
Trackgang Layout
Has again been out on display last year in November, when the Tauranga Model Engineers ahd a public weekend. The display was shifted from the TMRC clubrooms at Te Puna and setup in the Memorial Hall in Tauranga, with the able assistance of club members. Again we were amazed that after a period of storage, the layout assembled and ran well for the weekend.
March Gathering
Thanks to our host Brett, we had a get together in Rotorua, in March 2010. After viewing his layout, and a tasty BBQ lunch, we had a couple of presentations. Firstly, your truely took the floor with a presentation on low melt soldering, involving some of the nz120 kits. This including how to solder different types of metals together that are commonly found in the kits today, and concluded with a \'hands-on/try it\' yourself session. Brett followed with a presentation on constructing buildings, and displayed an interesting development of how his techniques and materials have evolved over the years. He had a display of a selection of building models and pictures of work he had done.
Christchurch Convention 2010
A few of the members were in attendance in Christchurch, and the general concensus was very good. The guys enjoyed seeing different layouts on the tours especially. 3/16th NZR layouts dominated the onsite displays, complements by most NZR model suppiers. I think a few dollars got spent, but no-ones admitting to how much.

Just a brief update, but I\'ll make sure I do this more regularly this year.

Happy modeling.
