After a morning explore around the Victoria Battery site at Waikino, a quick drive through the Karangahake Gorge to the western side. Here we went for the walk through the railway tunnel. Recommended walk, with lighting, good drainage, and good walking surface in the tunnel. Driven past here many times over the years, and yet this was my 1st time walking the tunnel!
