Obviously the Meccano model has no hydraulics. Virtually all movements are posable, but the model does traction and cycles the heads up and down by electric motors and mostly hidden strings (you can see them in the side shot of the heads). It is controlled by a button box with three buttons: forward, reverse, and cycle (trailing cable under left side of model), and I could move it along at the same pace as a CAT.
